Eyebrow Barbells Give That Extra Touch

Thinking of gifting your girlfriend or boyfriend with some great body jewelry?  Cool idea, but what should you be thinking about when you buy body jewelry for someone else?  It’s easy to pick out what you like, but hey, this is about them – not you!

Let’s imagine you’re buying something for your boyfriend.   First, watch him for a few weeks and see what he already has so you don’t duplicate things.  Then, take the time to watch him the next time the two of you go to a shop where he can check out body jewelry.

Is he drawn to tapered plugs, or does he seem fascinated by those new tusks in the front case?  Take note of what he likes the most and remember what it’s like so that you can check it out online later, where you can usually find body jewelry at more reasonable prices than in a store.

Gauge is always a consideration, so double check what gauge he’s currently wearing, and if he’s thinking of increasing any time soon.  You don’t want to buy him a set of 8 plugs and find out he’s going to be going up to a 4 gauge within weeks.  Body jewelry sitting in a drawer’s no good, but a great set of plugs he can wear when he’s reached his new gauge will thrill him. Ear gauges will make good buy as a gift or for your own wearing as well.

Your body piercing has healed and you can now change your jewelry. So you go shopping and find some great looking pieces, but they are made out of metal you’re not sure about. It’s important to know what your jewelry is made out of to prevent irritation. There are several kinds of metals that are safe to wear. Titanium body jewelry is one type that you can wear with confidence.

Titanium is a pure element that is used as an alloy in jewelry. It is a bit more porous that surgical grade stainless steel, so you’ll want to wait till the piercing is fully healed before you wear it. A highly polished piece of titanium jewelry is less likely to have places that germs can settle in than a matte finish. You should not wear the latter type of jewelry to avoid that risk. Titanium ear tunnels will make good looking and strong body jewelry.

Titanium rings for your body piercings come in a variety of colors. The colors come from an anodizing process. A coat of oxide covers the exterior of the jewelry, which is the color you see. Constant wear and friction can cause this layer to wear away.

Titanium is very lightweight, so it can be more comfortable to wear in certain piercings. For instance, if you don’t want jewelry that really tugs at your nipple piercings, try a titanium captive bead ring. Titanium Eyebrow Barbells are great for style and comfort as well.
